Katie and finally being able to be outside! | Minneapolis Family Photography

The weather is finally starting to work in our favor and thankfully it did for my first session outside for the season!  This is a two part as there were two objectives for capturing this family  – you have seen them before way back when Katie was 6 and I was there to capture the family and a dog they were training for service (Elmer).  Here is the link - Monday,  I will introduce Willow – the DIVA!  But first up just Katie and the Family!

What I LOVED about this session is that it was truly a lifestyle session where we were outside and just got to talk about the school year, training and of course how much taller Katie is now!  I have so many I wanted to share so here are just a few:)  (I wish I had pictures like this with my mom when I was Katie’s age)  The last one is my absolute favorite!  And I think the one with Mom and Dad kissing with Katie’s scrunched up face is just perfect!

Little Artist…Ivy | Minneapolis Toddler Photographer

Big weekend at our house!!  Ivy turns 2 on Saturday (which means I will cry at least 3 times because she is getting bigger and I LOVE the baby age )  and my husband turns a lot older on Sunday – Ivy missed his birthday by one day – she arrived at 2:45 AM! on the 14th.  I would love to say I have a session all ready for her 2 year pics but she has had an ear infection and bad cold this week so we have been on the crabby side of things this week – plus with the runny nose I just don’t feel like editing all that stuff!  So I went digging for something I knew I captured last month of Ivy coloring – this girl LOVES to color – I think she is just happy with a crayon or marker in her hand – granted the walls have been decorated, and chairs and furniture in the living room and of course her self too!  But this day she stayed in one spot!  I got out my camera and just let her focus on what she was doing – I have to say this is my love of photography – capturing them who they are – it is why I started this whole adventure.  As I looked at the images tonight I realized a couple things – 1.  I need to get my camera out to capture their CHILDHOOD!  yes – not all perfect images but of who and what they are at this age.  2.  I think when she is older she will love these images – I know as I get older I will look at these and remember this special time.  So my challenge this summer is I will be showing at least once a month of just some fun childhood images – and my challenge to all of you is to get out your camera too and capture your children and their childhood – there is sooo much inspiration in the everyday~    Have a wonderful weekend!!!

These are so precious. Such good captures. When I was scrapbooking the day to day of my kids, I took the best photos of them. Most of them involved peter and eliza washing dishes and cars and barbies in the kitchen sink. Each “today” is so important! I miss it, so I can see why this birthday will bring some tears. Happy birthday to Ivy and Matt!

Nicholas & Sophia (6 months) | Minneapolis Baby Photographer

Nicholas and Sophia had us cracking up with laughter in the beginning of their mini sessions – as soon as Sophia would look at us Nicholas would look down and it just went back and forth like that for a bit!  But they were soo cute!  Both were so good and Nicholas was full of questions and a good helper – he really was a sweet little boy!  Sophia was all smiles and her little dimple would show if she gave her huge smile!  Too cute!  Thank you for coming to the studio!

Kate – Part 2 | Minneapolis Newborn Photography

Here is part 2 of Kate’s session – these were taken at their home – I love home sessions just as much as studio – you get a glimpse of real life at home.  Newborn Home Session are a little more lifestyle but we still do some cute little poses too with them as well – I loved the ones with Big Sister Grace and Kate – She was sooo good at holding her and being very gentle.  The long lashes definitely runs in the family!  WOW!!  I think as far as newborns go especially girls she has the longest ones I have photographed!
