You may remember this family from fall 2009. For their session last fall we had to reschedule a couple of times because it was soooo cold so this year summer was the perfect option and it turned out to be a beautiful evening! Emma just celebrated her 3rd birthday and Troy just turned 5 on Monday! Here is just a small taste of their session (saving the family ones for their gallery

The Fall 2010 Matilda Jane Trunk Show is here!!! I am so excited to have our second trunk show of these fabulous clothes! The trunk show will be on Tuesday the 10th of August 2010 at my studio, downtown Minneapolis, from 6pm – 8pm. Matilda Jane clothes make for adorable and stylish images for your little girls! Not only can they be used in your sessions there are some really comfortable pieces that can be used for everyday and also back to school! This is also a launch for everyone to see the new studio! The space is just incredible and would love for all my clients to come down and take a peek at the new space. I will be having some door prizes just for my clients so even if you don’t have girls, stop on by to enter your name in for some door prizes from Jen Taylor Photography! The weather was being very tricky with us all day but we decided to go for it since it was overcast which means giant SOFTBOX for us and makes for wonderful images. Plus it is easier to move around when it is overcast so that is also more fun with kids! Last time I saw these two it was about 2 years ago and they have gotten so much taller! It was so exciting to see them again and they are just beautiful girls! Mom had them in their Matilda Jane clothes (LOVE THEM!!) - trunk show at the studio August 10th - look tomorrow for details.

So what started as a playdate for our children really turned into a playdate for us to have a little fun and do something a little different. Photographer friend Christina just bought these adorable outfits so of course we needed to try them out. She brought her two little ones over and we got to play with them for about 15 minutes (for photographers children that is like an hour of a session) It was fun and refreshing for me!!

Such a cutie and a sweetheart at 6 months! Miss Avery was my very first session at the new studio and she did an awesome job! She sat on her own for a really long time for me and has the most beautiful eyes! Her mom is pretty cool as well! Thank you again for letting me capture this special age.
On a side note if you are ever wondering when you should get your baby photographic the absolute best age is the age when they are sitting on their own and not quite crawling away yet! Most babies are around 6 to 8 months and no there is no rule you have to do it at 6 months - wait until they are ready. It will be worth it!
