I am slowing returning to the world after our trip to Montana.  Lots to catch up on so I will be a little behind and slow in my postings the next couple of weeks.

I wanted to share with you an event that is taking place this weekend that is very close to my heart.  The Kaila & Grace’s Hope & Heart Run is an event that is held locally here in Minneapolis each year and was organized here about 4 years ago by a co-worker of mine, April.    She has chosen to honor her daughter’s memory every year with a run that is raising awareness and money.  Last year I was able to attend with my family and capture some of the images for the event.  I can tell you it was an extremely emotional time to see so many families honoring their little ones.  It made us closer as a family to remind us everyday that all life is important and to treasure every moment we have with each other.  I have also added the you tube video that was created so that you to can see the event.  This year it will be held at Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park .  I know it has been a very difficult year for a lot of families but if you are able to give or join the event this year it would be wonderful.  There is a silent auction that will be held and I am donating a session and cd of the images to help raise money and it looks like they have some great things up for auction this year.

Here is a little about how this event got started and what it is all about…

April and Dan Wurst and Candy and Steve McVicar began hosting the event in honor of their daughters, Kaila and Grace, who were both stillborn due to cord issues at 38 and 33 weeks gestation respectively. Hope and Hearts is about hope for the future through education and research and supporting the hearts of families who have lost to move forward. Please join us as we Run to make a difference!

Proceeds benefit the Missing GRACE Foundation which provides support and resources locally in MN and nationally to aid individuals as they Grieve, Restore, Arise, Commemorate and Educate. The mission of Missing GRACE Foundation is to provide resources and support to families who have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss, infertility or adoption challenges and to advocate for proper management of pregnancies for all women.

RUN, WALK or CRAWL and join us on Saturday, September 12th, 2009 for this 4th Annual FAMILY EVENT which will include a 5K Timed Run, 5K Walk, Kids Fun Dash, fun kids’ activities, music and great food!
